Pond and wetland situations often require improvised methods of deployment. Where there is enough water to float a pontoon or inflatable boat but no launch facilities, the vibracoring rig can be lifted in by crane or assembled at the water's edge.  Where water is intermittent or overgrown with aquatic plants, the boat or some other rig platform may be winched from point to point if suitable purchase points are available.  If the sampling point is near some roadway without tree cover, the vibracorer may be deployed by a mobile crane.

Wetlands with no standing water can be vibracored as successfully as underwater sediments provided the substrate is saturated just below the surface.  Interferences such as as buried logs may be encountered, however.
